Sometimes all you want to do with a gift is motivate your kids to go outside. A lot of parents buy the toy to make them do that – for example, some parents will buy a baseball with the hopes the kid will go outside and start to play catch.

With kids, however, the key is often subtlety. The baseball may be played with for a day or two, but if the child does not feel motivated to go outside, they probably will stop playing with it and the gift will end up in a closet.

The key to getting your child outside is to subtly motivate them to go outside. Consider bedding as an example of how to do this. Want your young boy to go outside? Buy him Motocross Bedding or Skateboard Bedding so that he sees reminders of hobbies he can take up if he simply steps foot out the door. Have a little girl? Get her horse bedding to remind her of animals that she can see or ride if she gets out of her bed. It may seem ridiculous, but these are the types of motivations you need to do if you want to convince your child that the world is an exciting place outside of the home.
