We moved around a lot when I was a kid, a direct result of my father’s alcoholism and the fact hat he kept losing job after job. He always claimed that he drank because he kept getting fired, but I knew it was the other way around. Ever once in awhile my Mom would try to convince him to seek treatment, but after a couple of years she gave up hope. I mean she had tried everything from threatening to leave to getting him into different alcohol treatment centers. Florida was where we eventually ended up staying with relatives so we would have a roof over our heads.
I thought that Florida was a great place and that maybe if Mom could convince him to check himself into a Florida drug rehab center there was a chance that Dad could get better. Florida drug treatment is top notch and there were some treatment methods that we hadn’t heard of elsewhere.
Mom didn’t even have to beg him to go into treatment: for the first time he wanted to go and get some help on his own. He has now been sober for 7 years. He still takes it one day at a time, but we are so thankful and happy.
My neighbor’s kid is in so much hot water right now because he did something stupid with some friends. It’s a shame too, because he really is a good kid. I mean, he’s a gentleman, he gets really good grades, and has even been accepted to the college that he really wants to attend which is USC. But this weekend he kind of blew it.
He went to a party with some friends, and he was driving. Somehow they managed to get a case of beer, and apparently they couldn’t wait until they got to the party to start opening them. And you guessed it, they got pulled over. Now back when I was a kid, the cops would have punished us by making us watch as they opened and poured out each and every beer before telling us never to do it again. But times have changed.
I’m really good friends with my neighbor, so when his son was tossed in the clink, I was the one he called. He came over and we got on line to find a way to get him out since he couldn’t afford the bail. We got on line and looked for California bail bonds and quickly found that Lancaster bail bonds are really common. And the best part is that the bail bond agent made it really easy to get his son out of jail fairly quickly.
Someone who is interested in getting involved with marketing is going to rapidly learn that there are a whole lot of different things that have to be learned in order to be able to do well in this field. However, you have to start somewhere so you should also know that there are a few basic things that can be learned first to get a toehold on the industry.
Here are some of the basic things that you’ll want to learn about marketing:
The history of marketing. Learn what it used to be like and how it’s changed in recent years including the important shifts made with the introduction of online marketing to the industry.
What the difference is between mass marketing and one to one marketing. You need to know both types of marketing to do well.
Who the best local printers are in your area. If you live in North Carolina then you should visit every single full color printing north carolina business there is to find the best one. It’s a business in which who you know matters.
As time goes on, you will continue to learn more and more about the business of marketing but these are the basic things that can get you started.
Sometimes all you want to do with a gift is motivate your kids to go outside. A lot of parents buy the toy to make them do that – for example, some parents will buy a baseball with the hopes the kid will go outside and start to play catch.
With kids, however, the key is often subtlety. The baseball may be played with for a day or two, but if the child does not feel motivated to go outside, they probably will stop playing with it and the gift will end up in a closet.
The key to getting your child outside is to subtly motivate them to go outside. Consider bedding as an example of how to do this. Want your young boy to go outside? Buy him Motocross Bedding or Skateboard Bedding so that he sees reminders of hobbies he can take up if he simply steps foot out the door. Have a little girl? Get her horse bedding to remind her of animals that she can see or ride if she gets out of her bed. It may seem ridiculous, but these are the types of motivations you need to do if you want to convince your child that the world is an exciting place outside of the home.
Suction entrapment is one of the hazards of backyard swimming pools. Pools used to be built with drains that would suck water in, draw it past the filter to clean it, and keep the water circulating at all times. Unfortunately, kids and small adults can get caught by the suction, and in some cases, drown.
Recently, though, pool builders have started questioning whether the drains are really necessary. Newer pool designs attempt to eliminate the danger of suction entrapment by not using drains. Although it used to be thought that the drains were necessary in order to keep the water clean, more recent tests have indicated that there is very little advantage to having drains — certainly not enough of an advantage to outweigh the risks of suction entrapment.
In order to lessen the risk of suction entrapment in your pool, you should:
Talk to your Florida pool contractor about a pool design without drains. If you choose a Jacksonville, Tampa, or Orlando pool builder who is up on the most recent information and pool technology, he or she should be able to discuss with you the advantages of other designs.
Look into having drains sealed in an existing pool. If you contact a Fort Myers pool builder, they can discuss with you the pros and cons — and the cost — of sealing the drains in a pool that you had built a while back (or that was in your backyard when you bought the house).
Suction entrapment is a dangerous risk associated with older backyard pools. Eliminating the problem before someone gets hurt should be one of your top priorities — and if you are building a new swimming pool, you’ll of course want to make sure that there never is a problem!
